About: Exploration of natural systems from the microscopic to the universal provides vast potential for overlaying cultural, ecological, and life cycle flows towards determining new architectonic strategies.

The d3 Natural Systems international architectural design competition called for investigative proposals advancing sustainable thought and performance through the study of intrinsic environmental geometries, behaviors and flows. By identifying, examining, and applying their structural order on form function - bottom-up, performance based solutions for limitless building typologies, functional programs, and material conditions may be realized.

d3 is an organization committed to advancing innovative positions in architecture, art, and design by providing collaborative environments for architects, artists, designers, and students from throughout New York City and around the world. Its expaning program of exhibitions, events, and publications is focused on generating dialogue across geographic, ideological, and disciplinary boundaries in art and the built environment.
