In the spirit of the blogger-created B-sides collection, Always New Depths (a collection of songs from Bloc Party's first album Silent Alarm), we present Another Weekend In The City, a collection of B-Sides from Bloc Party's latest album, A Weekend In The City.Disclaimer: 'I Guess I'm Floating' is where both the album art and name are from. Neither is official, but both the name and this artwork are being used around blogger land.
As a whole, the 11 songs presented here are significantly stronger than the album the band actually released. (Was their record company mending the track list to pick the most accessible songs? Hmm...)
Anyway, download and enjoy, these will not be left up here for more than two weeks. My favorites are "Emma Kate's Accident," "Selfish Son," and "Atonement." It's all great stuff though and is proof that this band is not in a sophomore slump, but just made some very curious choices for A Weekend In The City.
